Hi, I’m Annie and-you’re not! (I’ve always wanted to say that and now’s my chance!)
My nursing experience gave me understanding of health concepts and nursing practice so that I can explain them well. But,
teaching is just one of the many things that I did as a nurse: If the doctor ordered medications, treatments or tests that, in my professional judgment, were harmful to you, it was my duty to bring this up.
I also worked side by side with your doctor to determine which treatment plan was best for you and develop a nursing care plan.
I spent a lot of time teaching, teaching and then some more teaching. I was your advocate. I was on the team who planned your discharge from the hospital in hopes that you would not return and live safely at home.
I’ll post articles on subjects related to the categories above. If a topic that you’re looking for isn’t in the category you’d expect, check out the ‘POTPURRI’ category above; or complete the Contact form in the ‘contact’ category and I’ll get your request. Last but not least, feel free to e-mail me with the Contact form below with an idea for a post, or question: any kind, any length, from what to do for a runny nose to how to plant a garden!
However, I would caution you to not to consider these pages as the gospel truth. Not because I don’t know what is right, but because your doctor knows you better than me, your doctor knows your labs, the results of your complete physical exam, has been trained extensively to interpret them and knows YOU.
I hope you enjoy nosing around!
